Earwig (2021) Artefact series
Over the years I have enjoyed learning about how my ancestors used to live in the past and what stories have been held onto about them. This part of my family is a large inspiration for my project and continually grasps my curiosity. The Earwig is therefore a homage to Wigton who's name is taken from the old English name for Earwig - a fitting title with how the place is always lurking in my mind.
This sculpture was created from a variety of woods and carved using traditional whittling tools.
